Black Ops mics on tour with Foals
Foals played a great live set at Kew Gardens for Radio 1 this week.
Sound engineer Nigel Pepper used Extinct Audio Black Ops ribbon microphones to capture the two guitars. The mics were used with reflection filters to reduce spill – which (sadly) makes them hard to see on the videos. Nigel also used the Black Ops mics for guitar amps on the recent Snow Patrol tour.
The Black Ops ribbon microphones are ideal for use up close on amplifiers, and the custom output transformer prevents things from getting overly muddy in a live mix.
